Special Advantages:

   1. Gnome: Being a small race, not particularly suited to adventuring, the following apply from stage 1:
      1.1 Regardless of weather, he may not record sunlight phases.
      1.2 He only gets two chits per development level.
      1.3 He gets a Duck chit, with the same restrictions as the Dwarf's Duck chit.
      1.4 Divide hi development stage by two and round up. He is required to record this many less victory points, but a minimum of 1.

   2. Underground Knowledge: Gnome can record one bonus phase per day, as long as it is used in a Cave clearing.

Designer's notes:

The Gnome and Hobbit have the same disadvantage as the Dwarf, which might put some people right off. I'd like to see if their reduced victory point requirement compensates. Also they would both progress stages more quickly in a development game.
